Overview
Flowering peaches planted in the Kawasumi hamlet of Onan, put in year after year by residents on fallow land.
About this place
A flowering peach spot in the Kawazumi settlement of Kamikuchiba, Onan, Shimane. In a settlement of 13 people called the village closest to heaven, flowering peaches have been planted every year since fallow fields became conspicuous, and now number more than 2,000. You can admire them as you walk along the road. They bloom around early April, and during that period a Flowering Peach Festival is held, with lunch boxes of local ingredients and pickles on sale.
