About this place
Yamauchi, the collective name for the district in Yoshida, Unnan, Shimane, where people engaged in tatara ironmaking worked and lived. The takadono, motogoya, nagaya, and more remain, conveying the scenery of the time, and the only takadono left in Japan stands here. Open 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:00); closed on Mondays; individuals pay 350 yen for general admission and 230 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
