About this place
A tatara ironmaking museum in Okuizumo, Shimane. It introduces tatara ironmaking from ancient times to the present, and through panels and other displays you can see the Nittoho Tatara, the only one in Japan still in operation. Sword-forging demonstrations are also given, and admission is 530 yen for adults and 260 yen for elementary and junior high school students.
