About this place
Kaka no Kukedo is a scenic coastal spot at Kukedo-bana facing the Sea of Japan in northern Matsue, Shimane Prefecture (formerly Shimane Town). Kaka is the name of the settlement; it is also simply called Kukedo, and sometimes written Kaka Kukedo. In 1927 (Showa 2) it was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument under the name 'Kukedo.' It belongs to Daisen-Oki National Park. It is also deeply connected to Japanese mythology, and is said to be the birthplace of Sada Okami (the deity of Sada Shrine).
