About this place
Nima Sand Museum is a sand museum in Amagouchi, Nima, Oda, Shimane Prefecture. In Nima there is Kotogahama, with its 'singing sand' known through the Kotohime legend; because preserving it requires protecting the environment surrounding the beach, it was decided to build a sand museum to appeal throughout Japan and the world. The museum opened on March 3, 1991.
