About this place
Yunotsu Onsen is a hot spring that has gushed in Yunotsucho, Oda, in central Shimane Prefecture, since the area was called Iwami Province. It has been selected as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The area, also a port town, is registered as a World Heritage Site as part of 'Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine and its Cultural Landscape.' Source temperature: Motoyu Sen'yaku-yu = 49.9 °C, Yakushi-yu = 45.9 °C It is clear when it gushes out, but as it gradually oxidizes it takes on a pale brown color in the bath. Besides bathing you can also drink the water, and the taste is somewhat bitter and astringent.
