About this place
A temple in Ashikaga, also called the Koyasan of Kanto, in the mountains surrounded by sheer cliffs. A famous temple said to have been opened by the priest Gyoki in Wado 7, its sights include Tentakahashi, the model for Katsushika Hokusai's "Kumo no Kakehashi." It was designated the first Scenic Beauty of the prefecture in 1975 (Showa 50).
