About this place
A workshop in Fukura, Oyama, Tochigi, where you can see the production process of "authentic Yuki tsumugi." It is the only workshop in the production area that carries out the basic processes of Yuki tsumugi, registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010 (Heisei 22), from start to finish, and you can see thread spinning, kasuri tying, dyeing, ground-loom weaving and more. Items using cherry-pink tsumugi dyed with the city flower "Omoi-gawa cherry" are popular. Tours need advance reservation; closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
