A great cedar at Gokurakuji in Naruto, called the long-life cedar.

About this place

A cedar at Gokurakuji, Temple No. 2 of the Shikoku pilgrimage, in Hinoki, Oasa, Naruto, Tokushima Prefecture. Said to have been planted by Kobo Daishi himself, it is a sacred tree about 31 m tall and about 6 m around, more than 1,200 years old, and touching it is said to bring family safety, recovery from illness and long life. It is a Natural Monument designated by Naruto City.
