About this place
The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (English: Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market) is a central wholesale market established by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The financial provisions of the Local Public Enterprises Act apply to it, and 11 markets have been established in the city. Meiji era - The then Tokyo Prefecture issued the Regulations and Tax Rules for Fish, Poultry and Vegetable Markets and Wholesale and Brokerage Business, limiting the number of wholesalers and brokers in the city. Through this, privately run markets licensed by Tokyo Prefecture were also opened.
