Overview
A notice board raised where the old Koshu and Fuchu highways crossed, where the shogunate's edicts were posted.
About this place
A public notice board site in Fuchu, Tokyo. Built in the Edo period at the place where the Koshu Kaido (running east-west) and the Kawagoe Kaido (now Fuchu Kaido, running north-south) meet, it displayed notices from the shogunate to the people. It is a valuable surviving relic of a notice board site on the Five Highways, and at the time it stood facing north toward the Koshu Kaido.
