About this place
The Nezu Museum is a museum in Minami-Aoyama, Minato Ward, Tokyo, run by the Nezu Museum, a public interest incorporated foundation. Its current English name is Nezu Museum; it was formerly the Nezu Institute of Fine Arts. In November 1941 (Showa 16), it opened as the Nezu Museum, an incorporated foundation, with the residence renovated, taking over the collection of antique art of Nezu Kaichiro I, founder of the Nezu zaibatsu, who had died the previous year.
