About this place
The Edo-Tokyo Museum is a hands-on museum built by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a major base for preserving the traditional culture of Edo and Tokyo and for creating culture by Tokyo residents.
It consists of a main building and a branch. The main building is at 1-4-1 Yokoami, Sumida Ward, Tokyo (3 minutes on foot from Ryogoku Station) and opened in March 1993. The branch, the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, opened in March 1993 as an expansion of the Musashino Folk Museum that had stood in Koganei Park, a metropolitan park.
