About this place
A scenic spot facing Toyama Bay. Across the sea you can see Onna-iwa (Woman Rock) and the Tateyama mountain range, with peaks of around 3,000 m. The Manyo poet Otomo no Yakamochi loved the place and composed poems about it, and Yoshitsune Rock, where Minamoto no Yoshitsune is said to have waited for the rain to clear, is also considered the origin of the place name. It is also a swimming beach selected among the 100 Best Beaches of Japan and the 100 Selections of White Sand and Green Pines.
