About this place
Shinminato Ohashi is the largest two-level cable-stayed bridge on the Sea of Japan side, spanning Toyama Shinko in Imizu, Toyama Prefecture. Construction began in November 2002 (Heisei 14) as part of the 3,600 m Toyama Shinko East-West Line port road, and the upper roadway section opened on 23 September 2012 (Heisei 24). The lower bicycle and pedestrian path opened on 16 June 2013 (Heisei 25). It is lit up at night until about 10 p.m.
The project owner of the bridge is the Fushiki Toyama Port Office of the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau.
