Overview
An island off Shirahama with a round hole through its middle.
About this place
A small island in Shirahama with a round-moon-shaped hole in the middle. Loved as a symbol of Shirahama, it measures about 130 m north to south, about 35 m east to west, and about 25 m high, and is thought to have taken its present shape as waves wore away the rock over a long time. It is regarded as a spot for viewing sunsets.
