About this place
The first place Kukai (Kobo Daishi) worked on when he opened Mt. Koya, in Koyasan, Koya. He built it with his disciples in 817, and it took a decade or more, up to 20 years, to complete. It is the center of faith as a place associated with Kobo Daishi.
