About this place
Bandoko Garden is a garden at Saikazaki in Wakayama, Wakayama Prefecture.
It is a lawn garden on the cape 'Bansho no Hana', jutting into Wakanoura Bay at the western tip of Saikazaki. The cape where the garden stands was called 'Bansho no Hana' because the Kishu Domain placed a sea lookout post there from the Edo period, and this garden is a development of the site of that lookout post. The garden is a scenic spot with a view of Oshima (Ojima), Nakanoshima (Mejima) and Futagojima floating in the Kii Channel directly ahead, and is also known as a famous sunset spot.
