About this place
A giant open-air bath at Kawayu Onsen in Hongu, Tanabe, Wakayama. Made by damming the Otogawa River, a tributary of the Kumano River, it is large enough for 1,000 people. A winter feature limited to December through February, when the river's water volume drops, it is free to use. Open 6:30 to 22:00.
