Overview
A roadside station in Nachikatsuura, joined to Nachi Station, with a beach behind it.
About this place
A roadside station in Nachikatsuura Town, Wakayama Prefecture, directly connected to JR Nachi Station. A beautiful beach spreads out behind the station building and is crowded with swimmers in summer. It is rare in the prefecture in being reachable by train, and it sells local specialties such as pickled plums (umeboshi) and sushi from a local sushi restaurant; the Kumano Nachi World Heritage Information Center is also here. The bathing facility Nibushi no Yu is reported to be closed as of March 2025.
