Overview
A theme park in Shirahama, with displays on human and natural energy.
About this place
Shirahama Energy Land is a science-museum-type theme park in Shirahama, Nishimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture. Konosuke Matsushita, founder of Matsushita Electric Industrial, opened it in 1981 through Matsushita Kosan (now MID Urban Development), to provide a place where people can learn the importance of energy while playing, and to promote tourism in Wakayama Prefecture, his home prefecture. The electricity used in the facility is supplied by geothermal and wind power generation.
