About this place
Akayu Onsen in Nanyo, Yamagata. With a history of more than 930 years since it opened, it was visited by lords of the Uesugi family and prospered as a lord's bath. Known as a wine town and a ramen town, it has six wineries, and Ryu Shanghai Akayu Main Store, the originator of Akayu spicy miso ramen. In Eboshiyama Park, a cherry blossom spot, many cherry trees are planted, including about 160 Edo Higan cherries.
