About this place
A mountain road of about 26 km linking Kaminoyama, Yamagata, and Zao, Miyagi, crossing the Zao range. You can enjoy a snow corridor in spring, fresh green in summer and autumn colors in autumn, with the colors starting at the summit area from around late September and peaking in mid-October. It is closed in winter from early November to late April, and traffic jams are unavoidable in the foliage season.
