Overview
A lift toward Mount Katta on Zao, used to reach the crater lake Okama.
About this place
A lift in Kaminoyama, Yamagata, used to see the Okama. The Okama is a crater surrounded by Mount Karita, Mount Kumano and Mount Goshiki, whose emerald-green surface changes color with the way the sun hits it. At 10 m deep and with a water temperature of 2 degrees C, it is regarded as a special double-layered water body in which the water gets warmer the deeper it goes. Alpine plants can be seen around the lift, and the shop at the boarding station sells the specialty "tama konnyaku."
