About this place
A sake brewing museum in Omachi, Yonezawa, Yamagata. Yonezawa is a cold region blessed with water and rice, and the breweries stay stable at low temperatures, suited to sake brewing. Kojima Sohonten (brand "Toko") was founded in 1597 (Keicho 2) as the sake brewer to the Uesugi family of the Yonezawa domain. At the attached brewery-run shop you can taste for free, including premium and award-winning sake.
