About this place
A highland at 1,300 m in Yonezawa, where on clear days you can see the Zao, Chokai, Gassan, Iide and Asahi ranges all at once. It has the shortest trailhead to Mount Azuma, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, and you can reach the summit by ropeway and lift. Trekking courses starting from Hokubodai are popular, and in winter you can enjoy powder snow at Tengendai Kogen Ski Resort.
