About this place
Kitakyushu Port is the collective name for several ports in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. That is, Moji Port, opened in November 1889 (Meiji 22); Wakamatsu Port, built from May 1890 (Meiji 23) (later joined by Tobata Port and Yawata Port to become Dokai Port); and Kokura Port were merged in 1963 (Showa 38) to form Kitakyushu Port.
