About this place
Nozawa Onsen is a hot spring in Nozawa Onsen Village, Shimotakai District, northern Nagano Prefecture. Source temperature: 42 C to 90 C. The source of Kuma no Te Arai Yu is relatively low in temperature, but the other sources are hot. At the foot of Mount Kenashi (elevation 1,650 m), an old volcano that erupted about a million years ago, there are many inns and lodgings. Around the public bath Oyu, large and small inns and souvenir shops are packed together. The roads of the hot spring town are narrow, winding and often sloping.
