About this place
The Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group - Mounded Tombs of Ancient Japan - is the collective name for a group of 45 sites and 49 tumuli in Sakai, Habikino and Fujiidera, Osaka Prefecture. It is included in the Mozu Kofun Group and the Furuichi Kofun Group. It was formally inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage Site at the 43rd World Heritage Committee on July 6, 2019. The name is also abbreviated to "Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group."
