About this place
Biwako Valley is a ski resort in Kido, Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. It was operated by Biwako Valley Co., Ltd., which shared the facility's name, but on July 1, 2020 (Reiwa 2) it absorbed Daisei Sogyo and changed its company name to Alpina BI Co., Ltd. It is now operated by that company's Biwako Valley division. Excluding the Rokko artificial ski slope, it is the ski resort closest to the Keihanshin area, located in the Hira Mountains rising on the western shore of Lake Biwa, an urban-fringe ski resort about 20 minutes by car from Yamashina, Kyoto.
