About this place
The Yatai Event of the Kanuma Imamiya Shrine Festival is an accompanying festival event, held during the annual grand festival of Imamiya Shrine, in which festival floats (yatai) with splendid carvings and hayashi musicians parade. The festival days are said to be the second Saturday and Sunday of October every year, but in recent years it has been held on the Saturday and Sunday before Sports Day. It is popularly called the "Kanuma Autumn Festival," and in that case the name collectively refers to both the Shinto grand festival of Imamiya Shrine and the citizens' festival, including the citizens' parade and the gathering and pulling of floats held on the second day.
