About this place
Amaharashi Coast is a coast in the northern part of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. The area has many small islands and rocky reefs, including Otokoiwa and Onnaiwa, and is a scenic spot with the Tateyama mountain range as a backdrop. It is included in Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park and was selected as one of the 100 Best Beaches of Japan. It is also a bird and wildlife protection area as part of the Toyama Prefecture-designated "Himi Coast Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary." Near Amaharashi Station is Yoshitsune Iwa, where a Yoshitsune legend remains that gave the place its name, "the rain cleared."
