OsakaShrines & TemplesIts four main halls are National Treasures, preserving sumiyoshi-zukuri, a building style from before Buddhism reached Japan: straight roofs with no upward curve. The way the Japanese built before Chinese influence survives here. Worship begins by crossing the steeply arched drum bridge.
