Rites and traditional events that carry on each area's history, faith and way of life.
A food festival bringing together the kiritanpo hot pot of Odate, its home, and the foods of Akita. The venue is Nipro Hachiko Dome, and it is open from 10:00 to 17:00 on both days.
According to the official information, it is held every year from August 3 to 6. Skilled performers balance kanto poles, hung with lanterns to resemble ears of rice, lighting up the main street. Details for 2027 will be announced later.
One of Japan's leading competitions, in which pyrotechnicians selected from across the country compete in skill. Daytime and night fireworks are held; the 98th competition in 2026 has ended.
