A Todai-ji festival marking the imperial edict to build the Great Buddha issued on October 15, 743. A Buddhist service is held from 10:00, along with a tea offering by the Omotesenke school and a celebratory Noh performance.
A traditional event in Nara Park in which seko handlers carrying red flags drive stags with fine antlers into the antler-cutting enclosure. The venue is the Rokuen antler-cutting enclosure in the grounds of Kasuga Taisha, from 11:45 to 15:00, and admission is 1,000 yen for adults.
