Hot-air balloon competitions are held for five days on the Kase River riverbed in Saga. 123 balloons are scheduled to take part in the 39th Pacific Cup.
The autumn grand festival of Karatsu Shrine. Fourteen hikiyama floats parade through the old castle town. The 2nd is the Yoiyama evening parade, the 3rd the Otabisho Shinko procession and the 4th the Yokujitsusai (next-day festival).
This autumn ceramics fair fills the town of Arita with Arita ware, and includes chances to watch wood-fired kiln firings at potteries that are normally closed to the public. At Imaemon Kiln the firing can be viewed from 7:30 on November 20, with groups changing every 30 minutes.
