Rites and traditional events that carry on each area's history, faith and way of life.
Drum floats from 28 neighborhoods and 3 groups parade from the Otemae gate of Matsue Castle through Tonomachi and across the Matsue Ohashi Bridge to Shirakata Tenmangu Shrine. The procession sets off at 13:30, and free viewing seats open at 12:00.
Rituals to welcome the gods from all over Japan to Izumo: the Kamimukae ritual is held on Inasa Beach from 19:00 on November 18, followed by the Kamimukaesai at the Izumo Taisha worship hall. The Kamiarisai is held at the main hall on the 19th, 23rd and 25th, and the gods are sent off at the Karasadesai from 16:00 on the 25th.
