Rites and traditional events that carry on each area's history, faith and way of life.
A festival centred on the "Kanuma Imamiya Shrine Festival Yatai Float Event", a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property, in which carved yatai floats move through the city centre. On the 10th, the floats enter Imamiya Shrine from 12:30 p.m.
A pottery fair centred on the Jonaizaka and Sayado districts of Mashiko, where more than 800 tents and about 50 shops display Mashiko ware and other items. Hours are 9:00 to 17:00 (until 16:00 on the last day), and it is held even in rain.
