Rites and traditional events that carry on each area's history, faith and way of life.
The central event of the Hagi Jidai Festival, in which people dressed as Kiheitai soldiers and the successive lords of the Hagi domain form a procession. From 9:00 to around 15:00, it covers about 1.8 km from Chuo Park through Omoto-machi to the front of Kanaya Shrine.
The Gojinkosai festival of Hofu Tenmangu, in which about 5,000 hadakabo in white garments take part. The venue, Hofu Tenmangu, is about a 20-minute walk from Hofu Station on the JR San'yo Main Line.
