NagasakiShrines & TemplesThe oldest surviving Christian building in Japan, and a National Treasure. In 1865 hidden Christians declared their faith to a priest here, an event known as the Discovery of the Believers. For two hundred and fifty years the faith had been passed on without a single priest.
