About this place
Kirin-jishi is a folk performing art handed down in Tottori and Hyogo Prefectures. It is a kind of lion dance, but because it is modelled on the kirin, the lion head is longer-faced than an ordinary lion dance, golden in colour, with a single horn and upright ears. The body cloth is red, with a black part along the spine. A shojo accompanies it as a teaser, and during the performance festival music with drums, gongs and flutes resounds.
