A zoo that uses the natural lie of the land, with Asian elephants, pygmy hippos and red pandas.
About this place
Ishikawa Zoo is a zoo in Tokuyama-machi, Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture. It opened in October 1999 (Heisei 11).
Its basic concept is "a zoo that is fun, playful and educational," with three kinds of kindness (kind to animals, kind to the environment and kind to people).
The animal houses in the park use the natural terrain and are arranged with plantings, rocks, ponds and more, recreating environments close to the animals' original habitats.
