About this place
Naruko Onsen is a hot spring in Naruko Onsen, Osaki, Miyagi Prefecture (formerly Mutsu Province, and Rikuzen Province since the Meiji period). Located within Kurikoma Quasi-National Park, it is counted among the Three Famous Hot Springs of Oshu together with Iizaka Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture and Akiu Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture. It is a National Recreational Hot Spring Area. It is also the current administrative place name corresponding to the former Naruko-cho in Tamatsukuri District. Strictly speaking there is no oaza called "Naruko Onsen"; the oaza "Naruko-cho (oaza) ___" of the former Naruko-cho has become the oaza of "Osaki Naruko Onsen ___."
