About this place
Furukawa Art Museum is an art museum in Chikusa Ward, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Furukawa Tamesaburo, founder of the Herald Group and first director, donated the art collection he had gathered, and it opened in November 1991 (Heisei 3). It holds about 2,800 works, centered on modern Nihonga and including Western-style paintings, ceramics and crafts. It also has an annex, the Tamesaburo Memorial Hall. About 3 minutes on foot from Ikeshita Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Higashiyama Line. About 5 minutes on foot from Kakuozan Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Higashiyama Line.
