About this place
Tahara City Museum is a municipal museum in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture. It encourages citizens' interest in local history and culture, shows the future of Tahara, and plays a role in regional revitalization. It is a museum exhibiting works and materials related to Watanabe Kazan, a painter of the Edo period and chief retainer of the Tahara Domain, and opened in April 1993 (Heisei 5) on the site of the Ninomaru of Tahara Castle. From April 2017 (Heisei 29), Donald Keene served as honorary director.
