About this place
Hacchi is a public cultural, tourism and exchange facility in Mikkamachi, Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture. It opened on February 11, 2011. Its formal name is Hachinohe Portal Museum Hacchi. Hacchi is a nickname chosen by public contest. During preparation for the facility's opening it was called the Hachinohe Central Urban Area Tourism and Exchange Facility, or HPM, an abbreviation of the formal name. It was built to revitalise the central urban area of Hachinohe, which was becoming hollowed out, by establishing a hub for exchange.
