About this place
Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum is a memorial museum in Katori, Chiba Prefecture. The maps and surveying instruments of Ino Tadataka handed down by generations of the Ino family descendants were designated Important Cultural Properties on February 19, 1957 (Showa 32), and were donated to Sawara City on several occasions from 1961 (Showa 36). In response, Sawara City built a storehouse next to Ino Tadataka's former residence, named it the Ino Tadataka Memorial Museum, and opened it in 1961 (Showa 36).
