About this place
Tokyo Bay Kannon is a statue of Kannon in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture. The original creator is the Buddhist sculptor Hasegawa Ko. It stands almost in the center of the city, on the summit of Mount Otsubo facing the entrance to Tokyo Bay, and is 56 meters tall. At present the Kannon statue and attached facilities are owned, managed and operated by the Tokyo Bay Kannon Church, an independent religious corporation.
