About this place
Imabari City Iwata Ken Mother and Child Museum is an art museum in Omishima, Imabari, Ehime Prefecture. It is a branch of the Imabari City Omishima Museum of Art. It opened on August 20, 2011, on part of the grounds of Omishima Ikoi no Ie (the former Omishima Town Munakata Elementary School). It exhibits 44 sculptures by the sculptor Iwata Ken, who studied sculpture at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (now Tokyo University of the Arts) and continued making work for about 60 years while working as a teacher.
