Overview
A wooden double helix where those climbing and those descending never meet - a structure with almost no parallel.
About this place
A sazaedo is a Buddhist hall of a distinctive architectural style seen from the Tohoku region to the Kanto region in the late Edo period. Inside is a spiral corridor, and statues of the 33 Kannon, 100 Kannon and so on are placed along the route, so that merely walking through the hall completes a pilgrimage.
